Equipment Selection
How do I choose the right radio for my business?
The main criteria are territory size, number of users, and working conditions. A small warehouse or hotel is served by portable radios with a 2–5 km range. A construction site or mine requires powerful models and repeaters. Mining operations require ATEX-certified explosion-proof equipment. What's the difference between ALINCO, COMRAD and MAYCALL?
ALINCO is a Japanese manufacturer with 30 years of history — the gold standard of reliability for security, aviation and industry. COMRAD offers IP67/IP68 protected radios, optimal for construction, mining and wet environments, including ATEX-certified PTT smartphones. MAYCALL specializes in 4G POC radios working via SIM card without distance limits — ideal for distributed sites and hotels.
Which is better: VHF or UHF?
VHF (136–174 MHz) works best in open terrain — fields, forests, construction sites: the signal follows terrain contours and penetrates vegetation. UHF (400–520 MHz) is preferred indoors, in multi-story buildings and urban areas — it penetrates concrete and metal better. For most urban sites in Tashkent, we recommend UHF.
Handheld or mobile radio — which should I choose?
Handheld (portable) radios suit employees who move on foot — security guards, hotel staff, site workers. Mobile radios are installed in vehicles and machinery: excavators, forklifts, service vehicles. Mobile stations are 4–5× more powerful, providing greater communication range.
What is DMR and do I need it?
DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) is a digital communication standard. Unlike analog radios, DMR provides encrypted conversations, better audio quality at the coverage edge, data transmission, and two independent conversations on one frequency. We recommend DMR for security organizations where confidentiality matters and for large enterprises with dozens of users.
What are 4G POC radios and how do they differ?
POC (Push-to-Talk over Cellular) radios work via 4G/LTE mobile network using a SIM card, not radio waves. Their main advantage is unlimited range: employees in different cities hear each other without delay. No repeaters, frequency licenses, or complex infrastructure required. The drawback is dependence on mobile network coverage and data plan.
Purchase & Delivery
Can I buy just one radio, or only in bulk?
We sell from a single unit — no minimum order. Small orders are issued from stock on the day of application. For corporate clients with large volumes, discounts are available — we'll discuss individually.
What payment methods do you accept?
We work by bank transfer for legal entities and issue invoices. For government organizations, we work through tender procedures.
How quickly do you deliver?
Within Tashkent — free delivery on the same or next business day. To regions of Uzbekistan — via courier, typically 1–2 days. If the item is in stock, we ship on the day of payment.
Can I test the radios before buying?
Yes, we provide free testing. Come to our office — we'll let you try the models you're interested in. For large orders, a test kit for 2–3 days at your site is available to verify real-world communication quality.
Licensing & Frequencies
Is a license required to use radios in Uzbekistan?
It depends on the type of radio. Radios on dedicated VHF/UHF frequencies must be registered with the Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility (TSEMS). 4G POC radios work through the mobile network and don't require frequency licenses — only a SIM card is needed. We help clients obtain all necessary documents.
How do I get permission to use frequencies?
The process includes: filing an application with TSEMS, technical electromagnetic compatibility calculation, frequency assignment, and equipment registration. We accompany clients through all stages. Average timeline: 2–4 weeks.
Are there radios that require no permits?
4G POC radios (MAYCALL) require no frequency license — they work via SIM card like smartphones. All you need is a data plan. This is the simplest way to organize corporate communications without bureaucracy.
Range & Technical Questions
How far can a radio transmit?
Manufacturers quote maximum range in ideal conditions — open terrain with no obstacles. In practice: portable radios in the city — 1–3 km, in open terrain — up to 5–8 km. Mobile radios — 10–20 km. How long does the battery last?
ALINCO, COMRAD and MAYCALL professional radios last 8–16 hours under standard usage (5% transmit, 5% receive, 90% standby). For long shifts, we recommend a spare battery or a multi-device charging station.
Can radios from different brands work together?
Analog radios from different brands can work together if configured to the same frequency and CTCSS/DCS parameters. DMR radios are compatible when following the same standard (Tier II). For mixed fleets, we select compatible settings and program all devices.
Warranty & Service
What warranty comes with the equipment?
All ALINCO, COMRAD and MAYCALL equipment comes with an official 12-month manufacturer warranty. Covered: factory defects, failure under normal operation. Not covered: mechanical damage, moisture ingress beyond the stated protection class, or unauthorized opening.
How long does repair take?
Diagnostics — 1–2 business days, free of charge. After cost approval: warranty repair — 3–7 business days, post-warranty — from 3 days depending on complexity and parts availability. Expedited repair is available for critical equipment.
Do you travel to sites for setup and installation?
Yes, our engineer travels throughout Uzbekistan. Within Tashkent — on the day of request. To regions for large sites: mines, airports, construction sites. The service includes repeater installation, device programming, staff training, and coverage area testing.
Special Cases
I need radios for a mine or explosive production — what should I do?
Working in hazardous areas with flammable gases and dust requires radios with ATEX or Ex certification. We are one of the few official suppliers of such equipment in Uzbekistan: COMRAD EX series and ALINCO DJ-DGX. We supply a complete documentation package for regulatory inspections.
How do I organize communication when sites are in different cities?
The optimal solution is MAYCALL 4G POC radios. Employees in Tashkent, Samarkand or Navoi communicate on the same channel without delay via mobile network. An alternative is IP repeaters that unite multiple repeaters into one network. We'll find the right solution for your topology.
Do you work with government organizations and tenders?
